3 new edits by mike simonetti of italians do it better. three post punk jammers put to wax. part one of his mike series. mike decided not to go the typical route and edit rare baleric tracks or unknown boogie. instead he went into his past as a punk and did some re edits of post punk gems. you may recognize some of these toons. he promises to bust out the rare joints next time.

mr dehnert delivering! after is succesfull releases on fachwerk and the first basement series release its time for another essential techno release by mike dehnert. after the little hype on the many blogs its another release that will create a stir. lautschrift is probably the sexiest masculine techno track we ve heard in a while! a wolf in sheep clothes. undercooled phat techno drive with a nice mellow vocoder voice, soft bleepy sounds and a deep sub-bass... and then slowly the sexy bassline becomes more and more dominant and energetic and the tracks turns into a killer. amazing track! regelschrift and nano are two heavy techno tracks from the neue berliner techno schule. just as we like it!

its amazing to have this kind of music coming directly out of turbo hq, it nails a sound that we have always tried to cultivate. minimal without being boring, trippy without being predictable, unafraid of melody, and with just enough analog imperfection and warmth to it.
both of the remixers we chose represent different sounds in techno that have influenced mikes sound.

giorgio gigli is an italian minimal-trance maestro, an incredibly modern renaissance man who is also a trained sommelier.** he is rising in the ranks and catching up in profile to his occasional production partner, donato dozzy. hopefully we will have more of his tracks on turbo soon.
2: m¦n¦m¦l
hobo is a fellow canadian best known for his excellent work on m¦nus. rumor has it, he borrowed richies quad-macro template file to finish the final version of this remix... whatever he did, his second effort came up huge, this mix is excellent.

kebacid is the production alias for turbo all-stars jesper dahlbäck and jori hulkkonen. their previous releases on jespers defunct blank ltd are some of the best acid tracks of the decade. this is a monster that ought to keep all the die-hard turbo fans happy.

mark grusane and mike cole are better known as the owners of mr peabodys records (store) in chicago. this track was taken from the primitive house trax cd they put out in small numbers. this early nineties track very much reminds us of the true chicago house sound… raw and sweaty! this will be available as a special limited edition.

top ten of techno dj legend dave clarke and ben sims !! michael walgram, born and still living in steyr, started his dj career at the age of nineteen. that time he was deejaying at small private parties, heating up the vibes with commercial beats. the artist mike turrento was born. however, he soon started to alter his style and went from commercial music to fine, chilly, yet pumping and pounding tribal techno. he is especially known for enriching his sounds with numerous sound effects using different equipment. the hype of minimal techno did not alter his individual style, yet he tried to combine minimal and classic techno with breakbeats. through adding skillbreaks, speedbreaks, scratches and spins he managed to find the perfect mixture and created outstanding classic breakbeat techno sets.

old school buddies mike regan and ray pulling finally get to put their stuff on wax. both based in the merseyside area, they have both had thorough misadventures in music and like nothing more than a good mix tape or cd!!

wagon repair are excited to announce the latest ep from berlin based canadian mike shannon. the re-nag ep, his third wagon repair release and first production of 2009, is the latest in a long line of releases from the head of cynosure records, with his work having previously graced imprints from ~scape and num to richie hawtin’s plus 8 records. opener ‘darkstar 3000&#8242,, is a futurist techno stomp. engined by poked melodic tones and a prominent metallic hat, dissonant stealth melodies manoeuvre around percussion and punched bass. biding time to prolong suspense, both bass and key melodic journeys coordinate to climax in a tightly executed sensory assault. ‘sweets (tla mix)’ opens energetically with static percussive tones circling around a pummeling kick. a rapturous vocal takes lead, effervescing within a wind tunnel of wobbly bass melodies and dizzy pads to close. ‘sweets (acapella)’ is an abstract entity, with it’s sole vocal discernibly haunting in the absence of beats and structure. full of texture and space, this is one for the producers that will surely not go to waste.

cynosure flag ship artist and label navigator mike shannon reaches into his archives and selects the much-anticipated “the box ep.” “the box is open” was always a highlight of many of mr.shannon’s dj sessions and live acts. this cut delivers nostalgic, old school of detroit, soulful, techno jack. a ton to digest there but there really is no other way to sum it up. adam marshall graces the ep with a stormer of a remix. taking things a step further, adam really explores a different use of the chords given to you in the original. a smooth kicking set of drums and ever elevating sequences of synth keep you on your toes never really knowing exactly when things will drop. definitely a production trait that adam is best known for and it never fails on the floor. howie mangel
